Our editorial mission

Our mission is to serve the public interest through accurate, independent and ethical journalism, with particular attention to Sarandë, Delvinë, Finiq, Konispol and the surrounding communities.

We are committed to democratic values, respect for human rights and human dignity, transparency and accountability. We oppose discrimination and hate speech and seek to give space to matters that affect community life.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions should be guided by public interest, verification and professional judgment. Commercial relationships should not determine the conclusions of our reporting.

• Editorial guidance supports accuracy, fairness and responsible reporting.
• Advertising and paid promotional content should be clearly distinguished from editorial material.
• Ownership information is disclosed publicly.
• Editorial responsibility rests with the editor-in-chief.

Ethics and accountability

Saranda Web follows the Albanian Media Ethics Code. Our approach includes verification, respect for privacy and dignity, consideration of relevant perspectives, and attention to the potential impact of publication.

Readers can contact the newsroom about factual errors, complaints, requests for clarification or other concerns. Information and materials submitted by the public are assessed before publication.

Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI)

Saranda Web has completed the Journalism Trust Initiative self-assessment and published a transparency report as part of that process.

The self-assessment provides a framework for reviewing ownership disclosure, editorial practices, accountability and other aspects of media transparency.
