Ambasada Britanike çel ekspozitë për Butrintin me rastin e 100-vjetorit të marëdhënieve diplomatike

Për të festuar 100-Vjetorin e marrëdhënieve diplomatike midis Mbretërisë së Bashkuar dhe Shqipërisë, Ambasada Britanike në Tiranë çeli një ekspozitë me materiale unike nga Arkivi Arkeologjik i Butrintit, në prani të Kryetares së re të Fondacionit Butrinti, Emily Rothschild dhe organizuar nga “Fondacioni Bardha”.

Materiali mbresëlënës i ekspozuar është pjesë e arkivit të Fondacionit Butrinti. Ai tregon punën e mundimshme arkeologjike të kryer gjatë tridhjetë viteve të fundit në Butrint dhe përbën një dokumentacion kërkimor dhe vizual mjaft të dobishëm jo vetëm për akademikët dhe historianët, por edhe për publikun e gjerë.

“Butrinti është një xhevahir në kurorën e trashëgimisë së pasur kulturore të Shqipërisë. Nuk është thjesht një vend arkeologjik, jo thjesht një vendngjarje historie ndër shekuj, por edhe një vend lidhjeje, njerëzish dhe zhvillimi për të ardhmen.

Ndaj është kënaqësi për mua të kremtoj me ju punën e mahnitshme të Fondacionit Butrinti. Fillimisht i ngritur si organizatë bamirëse në Mbretërinë e Bashkuar për të ruajtur, mbrojtur dhe zhvilluar këtë objekt të Trashëgimisë Botërore të UNESCO-s, tashmë “Fondacioni Butrinti është një organizatë tërësisht shqiptare e cila do të vazhdojë punën dhe mbrojtjen e Butrintit si një vend bukurie, natyre dhe mahnitjeje,” tha ambasadori Alastair King-Smith.

🇬🇧 | To mark the #100Year anniversary of diplomatic relations between the #UK and #Albania, we launched an exhibition with unique items from the Butrint Archaeological Archive, in the presence of the new Chair of the Butrint Foundation, Emily Rothschild. The event was organised by the Bardha Foundation.

The fascinating material on display at the exhibition forms part of the Foundation’s archive. It details the painstaking archaeological work carried out over the past thirty years at Butrint and forms a crucial body of research material and visual documentation that will be useful not just for academics and historians, but also the wider public.

“Butrint is a jewel in the crown of Albania’s rich cultural heritage. It is not just an archaeological site, not just a place of history through the centuries, but also a place of connections, of people, and of developments for the future.

So it is a real delight for me to be here today with you to celebrate the amazing work of the Butrint Foundation. Originally set up as a UK charity to preserve, protect and develop this UNESCO World Heritage site, I am delighted that the Butrint Foundation is now a fully Albanian organisation dedicated to continuing this work and the protection of Butrint as a place of beauty, nature and wonder,” – said Ambassador Alastair King-Smith.
